Where to swim…

Dover Leisure Centre has a 25m pool and a 10m teaching pool, with a sauna/steam suite attached. The centre offers a Swim School Programme for all ages and abilities and a suitable range of courses.  

Tides Leisure Centre is a gently sloping beach style pool (12m x 18m) with a wave machine and jacuzzi pools.

Ideal for families, children, and classes/lessons.

Walmer Paddling Pool is an outdoor paddling pool on Walmer Sea Front suitable for families with toddlers.

Open-Water Swimming is what the Dover District is famous for, with swimmers travelling from all over the world to attempt the crossing to France. With this in mind Dover Sea front is one of the most popular destinations in the district overlooked by the brand new Dover Sea Sports Centre. Other popular beaches include St Margaret's Bay, Kingsdown, Walmer and Deal.

Free Swimming Campaign

Are you aged 60yrs or over and want to swim for FREE between 1^st April 2009 – 31^st March 2011?

If so, visit Dover Leisure Centre or Tides Leisure Centre with your proof of age and ‘get swimming’!

Worried you won’t be able to see where you’re going? Why not buy a pair of prescription goggles!
