Core Strategy

At an Extraordinary Council meeting on 24 February 2010 the Core Strategy has been adopted.

The Core Strategy is the principal document in the LDF.  It contains the Council’s overall ambitions and priorities for the District and will be used to decide what the District should be like in 2026. The Core Strategy contains a number of strategic allocations at Dover Waterfront, Connaught Barracks, Mid Town and the managed expansion of Whitfield which are crucial to the implementation of the Strategy. The Core Strategy also contains a number of Core Policies that are applicable District wide and a separate section on Development Management policies.  A great deal of information has been gathered to provide the basis for preparing the Core Strategy and this is referred to as the Evidence Base.
