About Me
|
I was born and bred in Dover and has spent some thirty-two years
dealing with the general public at Dover's port working for both
hovercraft and ferry companies.
After seeing Dover grow after World War II, I realised that the
area was declining again so decided to get more involved and try to
do something about it.
Since originally being elected for Castle Ward, I has worked to
improve not only the Ward, which includes half of the sea front and
the town centre as far back as Pencester Road as well as the Castle
itself, but Dover and the rest of the District.
As the Council's Cabinet Member for Access, I am working on a
number of issues including improvements to the District's transport
infrastructure. Trying to improve our roads and bus services, as
well as ensuring that Dover becomes a destination for the high
speed rail link, involves a vast amount of lobbying and partnership
working as these are issues that
DDC
do not have the gift to deliver
alone, but our efforts must continue to bring the roads and public
transport in the Dover District up to a
level enjoyed by other areas.
