Consultation
Why do we Consult?
Through consultation we are seeking to:
- Strengthen our community leadership role
- Inform decision-making
- Ensure we stay in touch with the needs of citizens
- Raise awareness and understanding of services, how they are
provided and the local capacity to influence and change
- Avoid wasting resources on objectives people do not want
- Share consultation results effectively and use them to inform
policy development and service delivery wherever appropriate
- Maintain an open dialogue with stakeholders, while giving due
consideration to the risk of consultation fatigue in sections of
the community
