Partnership Working
While Dover District Council is committed to continually
improving all its services, there are key areas of particular
importance we need to focus on for the district. These are our
priorities: where we want to deliver the most significant
improvements, so the people of the Dover District can see and feel
a significant difference in the quality of their lives.
What are the priorities for the Dover District?
Dover District Council has recently published an ambitious,
outward focused corporate plan for 2008-2020, titled: World
Class District, World Class Heritage, World Class Port. The
vision for the district is for ‘A future of strong
economic growth within safe and sustainable
communities.’
The corporate plan outlines the short and medium term targets to
realise the themes of:
- A World-Class Dover
- World-Class Heritage and Leisure
- World-Class Economy and Environment
- World-Class Communities
For more information, please view our Corporate Plan.
Regeneration is a key priority for the district to help achieve
these themes. We are committed to working closely with partners to
regenerate the district in a sustainable way that gives our
residents a world-class future. Releasing the potential of the
district requires innovative service delivery and a commitment to
work in partnership to realise greater benefits than we could
achieve ourselves.
The history of partnership within Dover District is extensive
and we have also been working for many years with our neighbouring
districts to realise the potential of East Kent. Each district has
a role to play in ensuring East Kent is a prosperous and cohesive
area, one in which residents and employers have pride in and one
which offers a combined and enhanced offer to visitors too.
We work with a number of different partners and partnerships.
