Dover Priory Station
Improvements are planned to make Dover Priory Station and
the surrounding area a more attractive, safe and practical place to
use.
This will build on the Phase 1 works, which included the new
waiting room and ticketing area. These further improvements
will ensure that the station is ‘fit for purpose’ when the
high-speed rail link service commences in December 2009 bringing
London to under a 70-minute travel time.
The Dover Priory
Master Plan shows the improvements that will be made
to the arrivals area to ensure that the station is fit for purpose
for the arrival of the CTRL High Speed Domestic train.
Where is the Council with this Project?
The council is working closely with partners to ensure that
this project can be delivered on time and within budget. Some
preparatory works took place in early 2008, such as the trees and
advertising hoardings being removed; it is anticipated that the
remainder of the works will commence on site at the beginning
of 2009 with the works being completed by December
2009.
